This beautiful, unique, and culturally rich area is under threat due to a proposed East-West Transportation, Communications, and Utility Corridor that would bisect Maine from Calais to Coburn Gore. The fenced, limited access toll road for Canadian trucks could be expanded with pipelines to carry tar sands dilbit, fracked natural gas, bulk water, transmission lines, and anything else deemed profitable to the private owners and investors. This is a very serious threat to the future of Maine as we know and love it!
